ELIZABETH HARKINS
Continuous Woven Bracelet

Learn to loom weave with out having to deal with those pesky warp threads. This is fun, fast and very addictive. Bet you can't make just one. Three different patterns will be given out. You can pick which one you want to make.

SUPPLIES:
One pattern takes about 6 contrasting colors, the other two patterns I used 12 - 20 colors.
Regular beading needle
Thread of choice
Button for closure (1/2")
Awl
Kit Fee of $5 includes loom, tape

Beads should have high contrast...darks, lights & mediums, no transparent beads. Oh heck, just bring a bunch of Delicas, ‘cause you’re gonna change your mind anyway. If you don't have the right color I am sure Jane will be more than happy to get you  just the right one.

BETH DEWEY
Crystal Medallion Bracelet

3mm fire polish
size 8 seed beads
delicas (or the politically neutral Japanese cylinder
bead...)
size 11 seed beads
size 15 seed beads

This is peyote stitch (or should I say gourd stitch) worked in the round to make square shapes. The square medallions are stitched together using the 15's and more of the fire polish crystals.

I've done the bracelet using a monochromatic palette and the two rows using the size 11's were the same beads. I also have done this in random colors just playing around and used two different colors for each
of the two rows of the size 11's. The 3mm crystals can be substituted with size 4's but you need to have thicker thread and tight tension and they stand up in the center a little bit.

I use size D nymo most of the time and long needles, use whatever makes you comfortable or are used to to construct this bracelet. You can make extra medallions and hide a snap for the closure or use a
closure that has two spaces for the attaching, one of those old fashioned double snap types are what I've used for the examples for class.

For the leaf loop all that is needed is a few 11's in 2 colors, a main color and an accent color, thread and needle.  The toggle just needs a few 11's and a couple of 4mm fire polish or similar embellishment beads

JANIE WARNICK
A Most Versatile Beaded Bead

This versatile bead is a 14 to 16mm bead made entirely of beads. It's quick and it's easy to make - a perfect foil for a special lampworked bead or as a textural contrast to smooth glass beads. Janie uses these with her embellished beads www.janiesbeads.com. You'll learn to make the versatile bead and how to vary its design. She'll also discuss color and the effect of different bead finishes and linings. Janie will have beads and thread for you to use. All you need to bring is your favorite size needle (she uses a #10 or #12 Beading needle, depending on which she has on hand). If you want to bring your own beads, you'll need at least twenty Delicas, ten 11/0 seed beads, twenty 8/0 seed beads, and fifteen 5/0 triangles (or 6/0s, 4mm faceted, 4mm crystal bicones) for each bead and your favorite thread. She prefers C-Lon, although Nymo on a spool (anywhere from 0 to B) will work, depends on which she has in the color she wants to use. The beads don't have to match in color; the colors simply need to blend, or, maybe not.

I'm having trouble getting the picture to show up so if you'll go to Janie's website and scroll down to the Ruby Ziosite Necklace, you can see her Versatile Beaded Bead.

JANIE WARNICK
Not the Russian Spiral!

Learn Janie's own peyote spiral variation. Make a bracelet or a lariat or a chain for a necklace. You can see variations on her website:  http://www.janiesbeads.com. The spiral for the bracelet shown here took only a little over an hour to bead.  The time spent is dependent on the beads that are used. This one has 3.3mm drops, 3mm fire-polished Czech beads, 10/0 twisted hex Miyuki beads and a 15/0 for the "extra" bead. When this spiral is worked in smaller beads, it creates a chain that is easily knotted and drapes beautifully. Work it in larger beads and it makes a sturdy chain to support large lampwork
beads.

SUPPLIES:

This is easier to learn if you use three distinctly different beads either in size or color and an 11/0 or 15/0 for the "extra"  bead. For the bracelet shown, you will need at least
-140 3.3mm Miyuki drops (6/0 rounds, 8/0 seed bead drops,
magatamas)
-120 3mm Czech fire-polished rounds (8/0 rounds or Miyuki Delica 8/0
hex)
-84-90 10/0 twisted hex (Miyuki 10/0s, 11/0ˇ¦s, 9/0s)
-250+ 15/0 rounds
-Magnetic Clasp

(Substitutions are shown in parentheses, but you can use any bead
you want)

2 Needles to fit thread
C-Lon thread
Scissors
